Ruby Chow:

Wong’s elder sister, Vi Mar, waitressed at Ruby Chow’s. Lee addressed her as “auntie” and found some respite at her house.

In summer 1962, after our Chinese Community Girls Drill Team Saturday practice, founder Aunty Ruby Chow gathered us together and announced...

“He was sent to Auntie Ruby for discipline. She was kind but she was busy and they did not have this sort of relationship.”

Ruby

咁美國有無'“Ruby” seems too informal and “Mrs Chow” is too formal' 呢個concern?

Children use Aunty and Uncle + first name for their biological aunts and uncles but they might also use them as a way to talk to neighbours or family friends. A child might call me “Aunty Katie” because “Katie” seems too informal and “Miss Salter” is too formal.

What to call people in English. What is polite and what is not?

I doubt that very much. never heard any native english speaking family called unrelated people uncle auntie.

Why in some countries people refer to non relatives as auntie, grandfather or mom even if they've never met? (ex. addressing my friend's parents as mom and dad) Is there an historical reason behind this? - Quora

I think this was because it was thought that a child using just the first name to an adult was disrespectful but the full title “Mrs Smith” would be too formal for a child to say.

... Later also as a term for an unrelated female family friend... As a more or less informal term for any woman... Auntie is now used as a general term of respect for (usually older) women in various contexts in many varieties of English.
