依撒意亞書中只是講『羊妖精』，　希伯來文的經書也没有描述該是怎樣的模樣。
公元前三，　四世紀時，　翻譯成希臘文時，
譯者不知應用甚麼名詞，　只管用上為當時希臘人熟悉的　satyr 妖怪。
